First and foremost, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your vote, confidence, comradeship, and trust that I can lead this department to new heights. I have witnessed the great work that South Carolina has completed in the past, now I'm going to ask that we don't just meet past goals but exceed them. My motto this year is "I Know, We Know, It's Time Everyone Knows" that South Carolina is the best department in the VFW. We can accomplish this by always knowing the Task, Conditions, and Standards in everything we do.

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam. He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years. He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country". The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.
