Dennis Hamilton
State Adjutant/Quartermaster - Navy
Dennis Hamilton enlisted in the United States Navy in 1978 and
served 4 years as a Boiler Tech aboard the carrier USS America (CV-66)
stationed in Norfolk, VA.
During his service, he deployed on several cruises to the Mediterranean. Dennis earned the Navy
Expeditionary Medal when the carrier was called into action from
the Mediterranean, through the Suez Canal, and to the Indian Ocean to
support operations during the Iranian Hostage Crisis.
After leaving the military, Dennis moved into a professional career at the corporate offices of the
Standard Register Co. from 1986-2004 in various positions of
Support, IT and Web Technologies and Communications. As a businessman,
he consulted with and/or started 3 different companies. 2004-2021 (now
retired), Dennis was President and CEO of Hamilton Innovative focused on
marketing in graphic design, website design/development, social media
with a national client base of Contract Security companies, non-profits
and small businesses.
Dennis joined Veterans of Foreign Wars at Post 3137 on the Isle of
Palms, SC in 2015. 2016-present he served as post Communications for the
website, membership emails and social media. 2017-2019 he served on the
House Committee, 2019-2020 House Committee Chair, 2020-2022 Post
All-State/All-American Quartermaster and in 2022-2023 District 1
Quartermaster.
Dennis is a Life Member of the VFW, married to Pamela Hamilton and
has 3 children, April, Denise and Geoffrey and granddaughter Lanie.
